Stupendous Bryan. Thanks for having these posts.

  • Hello Bryan. I love your work. I have had a little success with astrophotography but we suffer from light pollution on our crowded island! We are planning a trip to Monument Valley and The Arches national parks and was wondering about access after dark – it seem like the parks shut at 8pm. Can you get a pass? Any advice would be appreciated.

    • Hi Steve, In my experience Natl’ Parks never close their gates-you can drive in and out at any time with no problem or special pass. I’m in RMNP and Arches regularly at night for star shots and sunrise shots. I haven’t been to Monument Valley. Because there’s no attendant on duty to collect your fee you should have your parks pass handy, or just the normal mult-day pass you buy during the day. I’ve never been asked to show a pass once inside the park, but I have a seasonal parks pass.
