I was slowly wandering through a peaceful Aspen forest, and had to look twice when I discovered this striking profile of an old man's face in the trunk of a tree. Such deformaties normally manifest as bulges in the trunk, and are produced by Black Canker, a fungal infection common, and potentially fatal to Aspens.
