When I hiked up to this spot, a low cloud blanketed the area. Everything was dark and I couldn’t tell where the mountain was to set up the shot, let alone did it look like there would even be a sunset. After I thought sunset had come and gone, I began to hike out. Then, quicker than I’ve ever seen weather change, the cloud burned off in a matter of seconds to reveal this breathtaking sunset and colorful clouds. You can actually see the remainder of the blanket cloud hanging to the right of the mountain. I sprinted back to this tarn and rapidly set up the shot. The light literally was over just as I fired off the last shot.
