In early 2009 I decided to pursue my long time dream of producing a nature documentary. Within a week of making this decision, I gave myself a crash course in how to use a camcorder and editing software, and made travel arrangements to various filming locations. The result was 3 segments, which I will post as I get them edited.
The theme of this documentary is a lone man venturing deep into nature in search of specific animals. Each turns out to be quite a rewarding adventure.
The first segment is about the beautiful Alpine Newt and Fire Salamander that live in the forests of central Europe. The second takes place in the old-growth forests of Washington, and is about the deadly Chytrid epedemic, which is threatening to make the frogs and toads of the world extinct. The third segment is about Colorado, and the brilliant Collared Lizard of the west slope deserts.
Enjoy!
