I had my camera focused on this tree cavity for a few days, trying to capture a Northern Flicker in flight when I caught this dispute between a Flicker and an American Kestrel. The male Flicker visits this hole throughout the day. In a split second, the Kestrel landed on the cavity, perhaps to inspect it as a possible nest, and the Flicker quickly chased it off.
